Jazzy James

Jazzy James, New Orleans Jazz Quartett
 

Bestehend aus Klarinette, Gitarre, Sousaphon und Posaune entführt die vierköpfige Band Sie in die unverwechselbare und gemütliche Atmosphäre des New Orleans Jazz.

Der Name "Jazzy James" ist nicht nur ein Wortspiel, sondern auch eine Hommage an die Wurzeln des Jazz. Während Jesse James, die legendäre Figur des Wilden Westens, für seine Wildheit und Gesetzlosigkeit bekannt war, steht Jazzy James im Gegensatz dazu für die Harmonie und Kreativität des Jazz, die die Seele berührt und die Gemüter erhellt.

Das 'Jam' im Bandnamen steht aber auch für spontanes Zusammenspiel und Improvisation, was diese Musik so einzigartig macht. Freuen Sie sich also auf ein musikalisches Abenteuer, denn mit Kniri Knaus ist nicht nur ein renommierter Posaunist an Bord. Viele kennen ihn auch noch aus den Zeiten von Pfuri, Gorps und Kniri, wo er mit Abfall und Alltagsgegenständen

Musik gemacht hat. So kann es gut sein, dass auch mal ein Abfallsack den Rhythmus vorgibt oder ein Solo auf dem Gartenschlauch erklingt.

Kniri 221 Alternate Tunings

I've been looking for alternate tunings for harmonicas and diatonic accordions for over 20 years.
Then I tried out my ideas.
I published the ideas on facebook and harmonica forums.

The SEYDEL company  made the specially tuned harmonicas for me.


I don't sell harmonicas and accordions,
but I would like to make my ideas available to anyone who is interested !

Alternate Harmonica Spiral Tuning  KNIRI 221
 

The "diatonic-cyclic" tone arrangement KNIRI 221 (invented 2001, published 2009), makes it possible to play identical melodies in several major and minor keys.
On a 10 hole harmonica, this allows to play 5 different mixolydian major scales and 5 different natural minor (aeolian) scales, which are related/similar to the circle of 4ths (and 5ths).
The tones have a regular spacing: 221.221.221.221 etc. 2=whole tone, 1=semitone.
The nice thing about this is if you blow or draw any four notes right next to then it will always result in a flat7th-chord major, diminished or minor, depending where you are.
This makes it very easy if you want to use the instrument to accompany someone and for improvisation.
